Terms of service

The terms for using Ad Cleanser.

1. Acceptance

These terms apply when you install or use the Ad Cleanser browser extension, website, and related support services. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of the service

Ad Cleanser provides browser features that may block ads, hide matching page areas, save site and page exceptions, provide a new tab page, display public stories, offer shortcut links, and support web search. Features and outside sites may change over time.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Ad Cleanser. If the law where you live requires a higher age for you to agree to these terms, you must meet that age or have permission from a parent or guardian.

4. License

Ad Cleanser gives you a limited, personal, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to install and use the extension for lawful purposes. This right does not transfer ownership of the extension or its content to you.

5. Acceptable use

You may not misuse Ad Cleanser, interfere with its services, try to gain unauthorized access, distribute malicious code, bypass security controls, use the service to violate law or another person's rights, or copy and resell the service except where law permits it.

6. Site behavior and blocking limits

Websites and advertising methods change often. Ad Cleanser does not promise that every ad, popup, sponsored item, or empty page area will be removed. Blocking can also affect a site feature. Use the allowlist controls when a site needs an exception.

7. Search and outside services

Firefox may ask whether you want to use an extension search provider. You decide whether to accept that choice. Search providers, news publishers, Firefox Add-ons, FormSubmit, and shortcut destinations are outside services with their own terms and privacy practices.

Some shortcut links may include affiliate or campaign identifiers. Ad Cleanser is not the seller of products or travel shown on a destination site and is not responsible for a transaction with that site.

8. Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. By using the service, you understand that processing described in that policy may occur.

9. Ownership

Ad Cleanser, its branding, website content, and service materials are owned by Ad Cleanser or its licensors and are protected by applicable laws. Outside site names and marks belong to their owners.

10. Feedback

If you send feedback or suggestions, you allow Ad Cleanser to use them without payment or a duty to keep them confidential. Do not send material you do not have the right to share.

11. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the service is provided as available and without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, uninterrupted operation, or complete accuracy. Some places do not allow certain warranty limits, so part of this section may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Ad Cleanser and its providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, revenue, profits, or business opportunities arising from the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, total liability will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the service in the prior twelve months or fifty US dollars.

13. Indemnity

To the extent allowed by law, you agree to defend and indemnify Ad Cleanser from claims, losses, and costs arising from your unlawful misuse of the service or violation of these terms. This does not apply where prohibited by law.

14. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time by removing the extension. Ad Cleanser may suspend or end access where reasonably needed for security, misuse, law, or service changes. Sections that should reasonably continue after termination will continue.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law rules. Courts located in California will have jurisdiction where the law allows. Nothing in these terms removes consumer rights or data protection rights that cannot legally be waived, including rights that may apply under the GDPR.

16. Changes

We may update these terms when the service or legal duties change. The updated date at the top will show when changes were made. Continuing to use the service after updated terms take effect means you accept them where the law allows.

17. General terms

If one part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining parts stay in effect. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the agreement between you and Ad Cleanser about the service.
